Deadliest warriors of all historyBlizzard vs KyuremIce cold to the bone Blizzard info: Height: 20 feetWeight: 2 tonsWeapons: Bare Hands, Fangs, Ice Breath Strengths: As the God of Natural evolution and Leader of the Virtuous Beasts Blizzard is one of the most powerful characters of Primal Rage, Extreme strength (Can harm the likes of Diablo, Sauron and Chaos, Can shake the ground by beating his Fists against it, Can send the other Primal Rage combatants flying several hundred feet into the air with uppercuts), Extreme durability (Can tank hits from the rest of the Primal Rage roster, Survived being buried under hundreds of miles of Ice), Massively hypersonic speeds/FTL reactions (Can keep up with the rest of Primal Rage roster, Can dodge Armadon’s Lightning strikes), Is worthy.Weaknesses: Despite being the God of Ice Blizzard isn’t immune to being frozen e.g. when facing another Blizzard in combat, Despite being deemed a Deity Blizzard can be killed via mortal means.Kyurem info:Height: 9 foot 10Weight: 716lbsWeapons: Its Body, Wide MovepoolStrengths: Is the third member and arguably the Leader of the Tao Trio which consists of itself, Reshiram and Zekrom, Extremely high Attack/Special attack stats, High Defense/Special defence stats, High speed stats, Is resistant to Water/Grass and Electric Type attacks, Can fuse with either Reshiram or Zekrom to become Kyurem White or Kyurem Black, Once released and under Ghetsis’ control Kyurem was considered a threat to both the Unova Region and the entire Pokémon world, Acts as the ‘trial by combat’ challenge for the Swords of Justice Pokémon, Can speak telepathically to those able to understand it, Is considered to be the strongest Dragon Type alongside Rayquaza.Weaknesses: Is weak to Dragon/Rock/Fairy/Steel and Fighting Type attacks, As fusion takes another Pokémon to perform it counts as outside help and will not be included, The Freezing Energy inside of its body can freeze itself if it leaks out too much at once.Battle begin!(Giant Chasm)The forest surrounding Giant Chasm shook violently as a ferocious bellow tore through the air, sending its many Pokémon inhabitants running as a massive Great Ape came marching through the trees, knocking down any that ‘stood in its way’ with lazy sweeps of its arms as it continued single mindedly towards its goal, the frozen cave at the base of the Chasm that contained the most powerful Pokémon in the area if not Unova itself.Inside of its cave the Legendary began to stir upon hearing the roars and approaching booming footsteps prompting the Ice/Dragon Type to rise from its resting position, the Ice that had formed over its sleeping body shattering and breaking away as Kyurem then shook the Icicles from its body, rising to its feet as Blizzards shadow cast over its body.Despite the Ape being more than twice its height Kyurem showed no fear of the Virtuous Beast, stomping its foot and flaring its long shattered ‘Wings’ as it let out a roar that shook the entire cave.Beating his chest with savage barks Blizzard charged forward, swinging its massive Fists to smash then across Kyurem’s head making the Legendary recoil before quickly recovering, stamping its feet to steady itself as it swung its head back exhaling a torrent of frozen breath in an Icy Wind attack, blasting Blizzard in the face making the Great Ape stagger back shielding its face with one of its hands. As Blizzard staggered Kyurem advanced, marching forward as it swapped its Icy Wind for a Dragon Pulse attack, firing a beam of Dragon Type Energy from its maw to blast the Ape in the chest sending it off of its feet to crash down onto its back making the entire cave shake.Rushing forward Kyurem jumped into the air aiming to come crashing down upon Blizzard only for the Ape to roll out of the way and right itself as the Ice/Dragon Type smashed down onto the frozen ground causing it to crack and splinter for multiple metres in every direction.Roaring at the Dragon Blizzard grabbed at Kyurem’s ‘Wings’ in a tight grip using them to heave the Pokémon off of its feet to throw it across the cave, the Great Ape then stomping its foot before exhaling its Ice Breath, the air itself seeming to stand still as Ice formed in thick sheets along the ground as the Breath passed over it towards Kyurem, making the Legendary call out in pain and distress as its body slowly froze solid up to its neck trapping it in place. As the Pokémon struggled against its frozen confines Blizzard reached up to the cave to grab hold of one of the massive Icicles that hung from it, breaking it off before rushing at Kyurem aiming to drive the Icicle straight through its exposed head. Before the tip of the Icicle could pierce Kyurem’s eye however it began to glow as the Legendary used AncientPower, summoning Boulders from the cave walls and floor to strike against Blizzard stopping the Apes charge, making it stumble enough to grant Kyurem enough time to finally break free from its frozen bindings, sending shards of Ice everywhere as it then roared even louder than before in a Hyper Voice attack, shaking the cave harder and forcing Blizzard to cover its ears as the sheer volume of the attack rattled the inside of its skull. As Blizzard reeled from the deafening noise Kyurem charged the Great Ape, slamming its body against Blizzard’s abdomen to start to push the Ape out towards the cave entrance, managing to push it a good few metres back before Blizzard slammed its hands to the cave roof and duck its fingers in, sending large cracks along the rocks to which the entire cave began to shake violently again, the cave roof crumbling and falling before the entire thing came crashing down on top of both Ice Beasts.Several moments passed after the cave completely collapsed before the rubble began to shift and move, the rocks then bursting outwards as Blizzard rose from them holding Kyurem by the neck and one of its legs high above its head, both of them showing heavy damage with deep cuts and running blood as Blizzard let out a battle roar.As its roar echoed through the Chasm Blizzard then slammed Kyurem hard to the ground before raising both arms, its Fists clenched tight as it prepared to bring them down on the Pokémon when Kyurem raised its head to fire about Dragon Pulse, narrowly clipping the Ape’s face and burning its right eye making it bellow and stagger again to which the Pokémon then aimed for Blizzard’s legs making the Ape crash down to its knees. With Blizzard downed Kyurem rose to its feet and blasted the Ape directly in the face with a Glaciate attack, lowering the temperature of the air between them to dozens of degrees below zero starting to freeze Blizzard over as it felt its limbs grow heavy and slow, its roars and grunts slowly dying down until its entire body became solid and covered with a thick layer of Ice.With Blizzard now frozen solid Kyurem inhaled deeply before letting out another deafening Hyper Voice attack point blank against the Ape’s frozen body, sending deep cracks throughout the Ice before it shattered completely taking Blizzard with it, reducing the Great Ape to nothing more than Ice fragments to which Kyurem brought its foot down upon, the Ice Dragon then throwing its head back in a roar of victory as the clouds above it darkened and the Giant Chasm was buffeted with a snowstorm.Winner: KyuremNow to end off 2023 I decided to go with a truly icey cold battle and to bring in an extremely underrated fighting game which is Primal Rage. But why does Kyurem beat Blizzard?Like many battles before this one I was going back and forth on who would win as both Blizzard and Kyurem seemed fairly equal in stats but in the end I had to side with Kyurem because of one thing, sheer power. In Blizzards Primal Rage 2 ending it covered half of the Urth in Ice using the entirety of its power whilst in Black and White 2 Kyurem covered the entirety of Unova in Ice and snow using barely a fraction of its full power showing that if it was allowed to fully rage and unleash its power upon the entirety of the Pokémon world it could have possibly covered the entire planet with Ice several times over.So in this battle of the frozen Beasts Kyurem was just that….hell of a lot colder than Blizzard granting it the victory.
